A hilarious romp from beginning to end, particularly if you use the Louis de Funès version of the film to accompany your teaching. With money and people's attitude towards it having been very much in the public eye over the last few years, it has always been pretty high on people's agenda and L'avare reminds us of its corrupting effect. Harpagon loves having money and keeping hold of it; he's not too worried about doing anything with it and deplores his own children wasting it. He has plans to marry again to a young woman who unfortunately his own son has his eyes on. So a typical Molière plot with the highly exaggerated main character, the love sick young people and spirited servants. No need to worry about the 17th century French, the language is very approachable particularly with the alevelfrench.com materials to help out. Select from the drop-down menu below to choose which variant of the materials you would like to purchase. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE NO LONGER OFFER THE VERSION ON CD. WE NOW SUPPLY ONLY FOR ACCESSING THE MATERIALS FROM THE SITE OR TO PUT INTO YOUR VLE (PLEASE EMAIL SEPARATELY TO SAY WHICH SYSTEM YOU ARE USING) If you would like to purchase through a school invoice, please go to this page.
